Didn’t something like that happen in 1968, where Hubert Humphrey emerged as the nominee, pushed forward by the political bosses of that era?
In this case, would there be resentment because Hillary didn’t even run in primaries, didn’t go through that process?
And in 1968, weren’t there a strong radical presence there who were upset at Humphrey being the candidate? 68 was a bit before my time, so don’t recall the events.
Of course the roots in the streets in Chicago in 68 got a lot of bad headlines for the Democrats as well.
