A new Rasmussen poll shows black voter support for President Trump has doubled in the last year to an astonishing 42%.
In November, polls by both Rasmussen and Emerson showed Trump had a remarkable 34% approval rating among black voters, compared to the 8% he received from blacks in the 2016 election.
An analysis by the Washington Examiner in November showed the dramatic rise in support by blacks could make the difference in the 2020 election.

I read the latest WashPost/Ipsos poll that said that “8 in 10 African-Americans think that Trump is Racist”. But there’s a little nugget all the way in the last page. The sample was of 1,088 non-Hispanic Black Americans, out of which 900 were Registered Voters, 856 were Leaned Democrat and 769 were Leaned Democratic Voters. So you’re going in already with 93% of those polled as being Democrats. Wave a few questions like: “Is Donald Trump Racist?” in the Southside of Chicago or in Baltimore City - and voilá - you’ve got your results. Now this is precisely the reason why Ipsos/CBS/NBC/NYT/ABC/WashPost, etc. DO NOT conduct nationwide polls of non-Hispanic Black Americans who are registered across the spectrum - Republican, Independents & Democrats - with just the word “BLACK” in the poll. This is why they use the term “NON-WHITES”, in order to disguise the races and for the public to have a hard time deciphering ‘who is who’ in the melting pot of voters. The only poll doing this is Rasmussen, and the Left discards these results and accuses Rasmussen of being right-wing or alt-right. The other question in the poll that I thought was interesting is #24, which asked if it’s a good or bad time to be a black person in America. 30% said that it’s a “good time” and 4% said they had no opinion. 30% PERCENT of these ‘Leaned Democrat’ voters polled said that it’s a good time to be a black person in America, living under Trump. Let that number sink in.
Best! Silvie in Waldorf
That’s right.
Yep! Let the lefties keep fooling themselves. Even after their massive failures at polling in 2016, they still haven't learned.
Most polling shows about 85% of blacks lean Dem, while about 8% lean Rep. It get's even worse when it come to exit polls, where about 90% vote Dem, vs 8% Rep. This is due to the fact that black women are twice as likely to actually vote than black men. Sure, you hear stories about 30% or 40% support for Trump among black men, but that is greatly watered down by the fact that they don't show up at the polls.
Sadly, there is no segment of black voters (other than black registered republicans) that will vote for Trump, meaning his only hope of significantly increasing his percent of black voters is low turnout. Numbers are better on the hispanic side, but the same applies there.
In other words..”approval” does not necessarily equal support.
That number was 30%, even though in your last post to me it came out as 0%.
Thanks - great info!
Quite right — sorry for the typo!
