Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced on Friday that the coronavirus has been declared a public health emergency in the U.S. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Feb. 2, U.S. citizens returning from Wuhan will be subject to quarantine.

Azar said that President Trump is also temporarily suspending entry into the U.S. for foreign nationals who pose a risk of transmitting the virus.

With the massive presence of China in Africa (economic colonization) I am surprised there hasn’t even been one reported case (even with the lack of medical infrastructure) I’m guessing that even if they cook up a vaccine tomorrow, Africa is about to go through Hell.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

And while the number of patients is rising exponentially, the number of ICU beds isn't.

I wonder if the lack of ability to admit critically ill patients is why the reported rate of infection abruptly flattened out?

We still have some time before we get a good picture. Latest numbers reflect a slightly increased mortality rate but that is almost certainly due to a shortage of test kits. Since this disease causes you to suffer for a long time and then either recover or die, we won’t have good numbers for a while. Couple of weeks based on the reported incubation period (guess).
