When it comes to the 2020 presidential election, Democrats are nervous wrecks and Republican excitement has grown.
Thats according to a new poll by The Associated Press as Americans look ahead to a high-stakes election that is 10 months away but still very much top of mind. While emotions could change in the coming months, the findings give Democrats one more worry to add to the list: Will anxiety or enthusiasm be a bigger motivator come November?
On the verge of the first votes being cast in a primary contest with no clear leader , 66% of Democrats report anxiety about the election, compared with 46% of Republicans. Democrats are also more likely to feel frustration. Republicans, meanwhile, are more likely than Democrats to declare excitement about the race, and the share of enthusiastic Republicans appears to be rising.
The findings arent surprising to anyone whos talked to an undecided Democrat about the crowded primary field. Behind an intense desire to oust President Donald Trump, Democrats often describe deep uncertainty about what sort of candidate has the best chance and whether the party will be able to win the votes. It can all feel a bit too much for some.
Im anxious and not really in a good way, said James Horinek, 32, a Democrat in Oklahoma, who works in marketing. Theres division across the board theres too much on the Democratic side and too little on the Republican one.
Republicans, meanwhile, appear to share less of that angst, while their party hangs together on impeachment, the economy and other major issues on Trumps agenda.
Tim Farrell is one of those stressed-out Democrats who have been worried since Trump won in 2016. The 58-year-old social worker in Watertown, New York, says hes been ill for the last three years.

I’m sure Faux News will report Trump is loosing in all 50 States.
You basically deny the ability of half the country to live a normal life because of their opinions, and you find that we want to throughly kick your ass at the ballot box.
It sums up how I feel - like a caged tiger waiting for Nov. 3 to come so the gates fly open. The Dimms have massively overplayed every card they were dealt. Either they’re stupid or this was some scorched earth maneuvering because they knew this POTUS is going to be hard to beat.

I give you a typical childish NY lefty granola eater.
LOL. Try to muddle through, Tim. Whatever the hell you are worried about. Maybe its loss of clients who have jobs now.
This “poll” comes out every election year; no doubt a signal for the Democrat hustlers to “get out the vote” any way possible.
We will see angry fissures developing within the Dems as either a far left candidate or an establishment candidate gets the nod.
Meanwhile, GOP coming into this election more unified than at any time since the days of the Gipper. How sweet it is.....

OTOH, 45 people went to hear Bloomberg and Judge Judy. 11 people were at a Biden rally to hear John Kerry.
Sorry mate, but you are in for another four years of pain. Better stock up on Prozac.
“...ill for the last three years.
Mental illness can be devastating.
What a drama queen...OR drama-drag-queen.
I learned a LONG time ago that what the president does has VERY little effect on my life. It's the same with a governor. Even a mayor or district representative has little effect on my life.
So, that this pathetic soul has been ILL for three years is either a lie or a ploy for MORE ATTENTION. It's probably the latter.
He NEEDS A LIFE. He might try getting closer to our Lord. Our Lord brings us peace. The dealings of day-to -day life PALE at what our Lord did/does for us,
Wait till Bernie wins Iowa...then they will feel the bern in their lower sphincter.
I’m so fired up I donate regularly to Trump even though I know a portion of the money is siphoned off by the feckless GOP! Whatever it takes to help Trump win.

A storm is coming. They're not going to like it.

You can see the results here...
The Democrat LEADERSHIP ought to undergo MASSIVE changes. It probably won't but it should.
Most Democrats OUGHT to realize that their party won't win with the current "angry-woman" face it's showing now. It's BORING, useless and self-defeating.
Speaking of the "no spin zone" Bill O'Reilly has a new book out called "The United States of Trump." I'm going to order it today. It should be interesting.
LOL! The Dems are about to get burned by the Bern.
Democrats are anxious because their three leading candidates—Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren—all have huge faults.
The libs’ funded focus groups are showing what is happening across our nation as shown by the %’s attending President Trump’s successful Wildwood Rally/meeting last night.
Their only chance is their Faux Impeachment which losing every day.

President Donald Trumps rallies continue to attract a broad coalition. While Democrats are trying to out-compete one another by moving further and further to the left, alienating many voters in the process, Trump pitched the GOP as a big tent party last night. And that shows in his audience.
Trumps campaign manager Brad Parscale polls the audience at all of Trumps rallies, and during last nights rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, the figures showed Trump attracting Democrats and the previously politically-apathetic. 10.4% of attendees didnt vote in 2016, Parsale wrote in a tweet. 26.3% were Democrats.
While New Jersey leans heavily Democrat, this audience composition continues a trend seen at recent rallies Trump has held in swing states.
At President Trumps rally in Ohio, 42.5% of attendees identified as either Democrats or Independents. At his Wisconsin rally, the majority of attendees were not Republicans, with 57.8% identifying as Democrats or Independents.
Its not just your perception that the Democrat Party is becoming increasingly left-wing. While the GOP has remained ideologically consistent since at least the 1980s, the Dems have veered further and further left, to the point where a self-described socialist is a series contender in their primary. As recently as 1994, an equal share of Democrats identified as conservative and liberal (while barely any Republicans ever identified as liberal).
Now the partys range of ideology stretches from liberal to socialist. Thats not good for the country but it is good for the electibality of their Republicans competitors.
