Although the cat is out of the bag. If infections continue to exponentiate worldwide, we’ll need to do that too. I sincerely hope not. I don’t personally wish to live in interesting times.

Wrong again. POTUS ordered screening at 20 US Airports just recently.
China is screening because US teams are there onsite watching. POTUS ordered those teams to China or else he was going to shut down traffic from there. Xi folded in behind Trump and ordered Chinese screeners to do the checks.
Then when they set foot in US airports, they are screened again.

Only suspicious chinese nostrils are swabbed. At the local hospital.
China doesn’t have swab rapid-tests for this either.
They’re not even able to manufacture sufficient tests for their own hospitals. Much less random airport travelers who are asymptomatic.

Yes they were and then came the swab kits.
The response is not static. it is in a state of adapting the screening procedures as appropriate.
The CDC is doing great work but they need to reduce the bottle necks of lab confirmation testing. I imagine they will do this by setting up temp facilities near or inside airports.
I really wish you would stop cluttering the thread with your flame rants acting as if you know what you’re talking about when it is apparent you don’t. It doesn’t make FR look like a place for intelligent discourse. Such rants drive people away.

I agree. A country like China doesn’t:
-Quarantine 60 mill + people
-Put roadblocks around cities and regions
-Shut down their Stockmarket
-Cause untold billions financial damage to their own economy
for a simple virus with a fairly low reported death rate.
They KNOW something they aren’t telling, and so much evidence supports a bioweapon either accidental or purposeful release.
I’m not familiar with where insulin is made. Is it made in China?
BTW, 2 cases in NSW Australia are listed as ‘recovered’. So far no deaths in ‘western’ countries. *fingers crossed* and prayers said.
That’s a comfort.
Let’s hope this doesn’t take hold in Puerto Rico. I don’t expect it will. SARS doesn’t actually like heat and humidity, let’s hope its cousin wuhan doesn’t like those things either. Although SARS did like air conditioning.
