Someone mentioned opening Pandora’s Box if they start digging into Ukraine with witnesses. Unpredictable witnesses. Maybe the world will find out lots of congress critters have been getting kickbacks or other financial gain from the oligarchs there.
Could be a massive money laundering operation for politicians all over the world.
Pretty sure that’s not what the powers that be want to happen. Ergo; acquittal is all but assured.
As far as those who have been involved in this corruption; I’d like to see them quietly dealt with. Perhaps forced to resign or finish their present term and not run again. Not sure a major scandal like that would benefit the country, or rather, countries of those involved. Probably goes all the way to the top of present or past leaders in many countries. Something would need to happen to prevent it from happening again with something done to those who did this but we don’t necessarily need to know about it. Just that it was handled. Pretty sure this affects pols on both sides of the isle.
Perhaps something as simple as telling them to go away and stay quiet or they will be exposed. Most of us know these pols or their family members rarely answer for crimes that would put any one of us away for 30 years.

I would like to see them dealt with severely enough that the next person that considers committing that crime hesitates and says “no I don’t want to end up hanged from a light-post and left to rot and be eaten by the buzzards in the District of Corruption like ...”
I would much rather see the corruption in the Ukraine cause politicians behind bars for the rest of their lives. Multimillion dollar embezzling should not be handled with a quiet retirement.
Dirty cops have a special place in hell, but dirty lawmakers belong deeper.
