Atlanta is a sea of Chinese in masks .
The Chinese. are flooding in here for free healthcare and no quarantine checks .

Stop looking at what is being said, and look at what is being done.

I was around for SARS. There was no massive quarantine, no evac of world personal from China, no closing of the stock market.

Words to the press were the same. Look on FR for perspective. But the reaction right now is that the PRC is scared out of their ever loving mind. Their actions have destroyed their economy. This is a place were a dead body on the street doesn’t raise much comment.

Sad thing is there is little we can do about it. The bug is in the wild in NA, and I am at least suspecting the CDC knows that. Not scared yet, but when you see a lot of senators suddenly going on vacation to sunny New Zealand, then get ready for some serious stuff.

This whole thing is so overblown.
SARS hurt China badly for years economically, plus they lost face. Now it comes again (very similar). Beijing feels they can not be a superpower (in the World's eyes) if they can't seem to control this. They will shut down the country to snuff it out quickly, which will allow quicker recovery economically and show their ability to control it.
Their economy already has been slowing there, partly due to tariffs, and they don't want it to get worse....
