Why are State Dept employees only quarantined for 72 hours not 2 weeks ? Are the State dept staff too elite for two weeks . The State dept was diverted to this base after complaint about them running around SF and Ontario commercial airports . Are these DC idiots insane ! England , France , Australia are all quarantine their staff for 2 weeks .

Where is the Trump WH and Homeland Security stopping the State dept insanity .? Why are Chinese still flying in here hourly ?

The only way 72 hours makes sense, is if they have a way to test for infection, that would detect it even if they are asymptomatic.

I doubt they do, given that everyone else has had to send off to the CDC and wait 2 days.

A few more relevant questions: were members of the crew quarantined as well? Or were they allowed to depart? And what (if anything) was done to disinfect the cabin and facilities aboard that 747? Kalitta is a cargo and charter outfit; when the jet is sitting on the tarmac, it’s not generating any revenue—unless State Department contract covers the “idle” period on the ramp at March.

To be fair, all the passengers were screened twice before boarding and another two times during the refueling stop in Alaska.

Plus, we have better tests and equipment. Don’t let anyone BS you that other countries have better healthcare systems. All of them are piggybacking off of US technology if they aren’t outright stealing it.

Why ?
The rest of the world is using 14 day quarantine.

The virus can not be detected for up to Five days ?

Why is this State Dept trying to expose the US to these exposed State dept staff. They were forced to do 72 hours .
The flight was diverted there .
Its was planned to land in Ontario .

We do not know if they will be quarantined at March.

The crew did not interact with the passengers. The crew even had a separate air system.

WHO warned The virus can be undetected for 5 days .
We have the same medical protocols as Australia and England .
The State Dept was planning to have these people to get off
in SF then Ontario commercial airports with no quarantine.
The flight was diverted .

I noticed the plane was a Connie Kilatta charter. A freight outfit. Owned and named for the former drag race car racer. He flies anything anywhere anytime in run-out airplanes held together with duct tape.

A little more research: the 747 that flew US evacuees into March Air Reserve Base this morning is scheduled to fly on to Seattle this afternoon, departed at 1:00 pm PST, arriving at SeaTac at 3:23 local time.

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/CKS371

BTW, a photo from the Daily Mail article (linked in original post) showed pilots in HAZMAT suits in the cockpit. If the pilot or first officer is ex-military, I’ll bet they told themselves, “Another great thing about being a civilian pilot...I’ll never have to do a CW flight again.”

Wonder how much of a bonus (if any) the pilots and cabin crew were paid to staff the evacuation flight from Wuhan.

I missed that information.
If they needed a separate air system then why is anyone allowed from China here without a quarantine of 14 days .

I think that even though they don’t have the symptoms a blood test will show if the virus is present!! If the virus is present THEN the will be detained longer, H9WEVER if ONE person on that plane has a positive result I believe they will hold them ALL!! Close quarters, recycled air on the plane will have put them ALL in high risk for virus. I believe in the end they will ALL be held for the 2 weeks!!!

There’s a sophisticated new test called Reverse Transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR), which measures the amount of viral RNA, a chain of cells that carry genetic information, in a patient’s sputum, serum or blood. That’s why all samples are being shipped to Atlanta and tested at the Centers for Disease Control

I’ve read it takes 6 hours. I don’t know how many individual tests they can run simultaneously or if they can. They are working on a simple anti-body field test.

Lets hope.
The insane idiots at the State dept wanted to drop them off in SF
or Ontario airports .
Who thought that was a great idea.
Australia is sticking them on a island for two weeks .

The virus can not be detected for up to Five days ?

People who are infected do not shown symptoms for up to 5 days but they are contagious throughout that period.

Because those countries are being cheap or don’t have the equipment we do.

When we develop an antibody field test kit, you can bet your ass we provide the science to others for free or give them the kits for free.

Saving the world again.

OR, we’ve already identified a small molecule that shuts it down and they’ll get IV’s of that?

dunno.

I wondered what we had when the ebola outbreak happened.

I hope so .
Then why the 72 hours?

The fact the State Dept was eager to unleash there employee
at SF or Ontario makes me wonder about the
clueless reckless elites we have employed there .
