Were both sides given questions in advance, in order to prepare slides/charts, etc., beforehand?

Who knows?

Others here suggested that while the Democrats were coordinating (like they always do), Republicans were busy being distracted by Romney, Collins, and Murkowski's defection on witness votes, and didn't have the time or the forethought to coordinate with Trump's people in the same way.

Certainly yes for some of the early ones. A bit of scripted kabuki before moving on to improv.

Seems so. I think I caught a glimpse of Donna Brazille skulking around the House Managers’ table funneling questions. She’s an expert, y’know.
