'Kind of pointless': In battleground Michigan, impeachment takes back seat to everyday issues

LIVONIA, Mich. - Ask Victor Burch about the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, and he will rattle off a string of issues of more pressing concern to him, starting with making a living as a barber in this northwestern suburb of Detroit.

“You’ve got elderly who need help. You’ve got veterans who need help. You’ve got poor people who need help. Impeachment doesn’t really help a person who is struggling,” said Burch, 40, who took up cutting hair after he lost his job at a plastics factory in the 2007-2009 financial crisis.

Burch, an undecided African-American voter, added: “Close up the barber shop and say: ‘Let’s just sit and hold hands and watch and see if Trump is going or not’? We can’t do that. We don’t live in that type of tax bracket.”

Voters like Burch and places like Livonia will be at the epicenter of November’s presidential contest. Michigan itself is a crucial battleground state that Trump carried unexpectedly in 2016 by about 11,000 votes, propelling him to the White House along with wins in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

But interviews with two dozen voters in Livonia over recent days showed that months of impeachment hearings, testimony and political storms in Washington had done almost nothing to alter their views. Instead, many were focused on issues of the day, such as jobs, healthcare, immigration and education.

Stopped by the Beverage Center yesterday and noticed the cashier had “The Five” on his TV. I said how do you like the show, he responded that he was paying scant attention but tha they were talking impeachment and “it’ll never happen”.

I’m thankful my day-to-day existence doesn’t depend on what Gov’t does. Getting out of debt (thank you Dave Ramsey) and building up savings gives average Joes options - too bad more people won’t listen.

My wife is a Dave Ramsey fan. I just discovered him on Youtube and have been watching is very informative videos. I now understand why she thought we should pay off our small “zero interest” loans first. It’s not a mathematical decision. It’s an emotional one. And just like with a diet, you need those early weight loss successes to keep you on the diet. :)

The MSM and Google are in meltdown mode.

Try to find the GOP Attorneys presentations for the last 2 days in searches on google or you tube. Or try DuckDuckGo too.

Orchestrated to be hidden even if someone wants to watch.

These people are evil

Talked with Sis who lives in Michigan. She said
People are openly wearing Trump hats — a few yard signs have popped up in windows
Her neighbors who attended the earlier rally are working to get people registered
Everyone is talking positive about James. He has a great group of volunteers working for him.
