Sen. Ted Cruz engaged in a back-and-forth with a reporter while arguing that President Trump was justified in asking leaders in Ukraine to launch investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son.
"The House [impeachment] managers built their entire case on the proposition that investigating Burisma corruption, investigating the Bidens for corruption was baseless and a sham," Cruz said during a press conference on Monday. "That proposition is absurd ... We've just seen two hours of evidence."
A reporter pressed Cruz, saying, "But senator, none of the president's attorneys mentioned one single possible crime. Basically, what they said is [Hunter Biden] got a job, his dad was vice president. I mean, if that's a crime, shouldn't half of your children be in prison?"
"My children are nine and 11," Cruz responded. "I'm sorry you want to throw a nine-year-old in prison. So, stop playing that nasty Washington game."
The reporter responded, "That's not a nasty Washington game."
"Attacking a nine-year-old," Cruz said, before moving on with the press conference.

You’re not the president. The president said — I said, call him. I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch. (Laughter.) He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”
I was proud of my Senator when he shot back at this pos msm reporter.
They are all scum and should be thinned from the herd
Those were not reporters. They were hecklers.

The reporter said that? What you have there is a “conflict of interest”, minimum. And that used to be worthy of an investigative reporter’s time. But I guess we don’t have those anymore?
My take: the reporter is half-right. What Hunter Biden did (taking the Burisma-job) is not illegal. Maybe it should be. But, as they say, the real scandal in Washington DC is not what is illegal, but rather what is LEGAL.
OTOH, Burisma certainly thought that they were currying favor with a US administration or they wouldn’t have done it. And if it can be shown that any money moved through Hunter Biden to his father, then laws were broken. That’s bribery and there is a “High Crime”.
I suspect the fantastic wealth that (mostly) Democrat politicians are amassing during their lifetime in office is due to this type of game. Essentially “selling protection” for continued US foreign aid payments.
It all starts with Book Deals and ghost writers. Then it moves to Media consultancies when out of office. Then it moves to elite college admissions for their kids and no-show jobs for their spouses. Maybe a deal with Netflix. So you’re telling me that Burisma’s offer to hire the VP’s son onto their corporate board WOULDN’T be leveraged into a cash-payments stream for the entire Biden family? And that Under-boss Joe wouldn’t have kicked-upstairs to Don Barak?

This isn’t required. It doesn’t matter if their hairdresser benefited from corruption... it’s still corruption.
Things can be corrupt without being by-definition illegal. So I don’t think we disagree.
Whats the count of crime family members in the Biden clan up to now 11.
