The death toll from a coronavirus outbreak in China has soared to 106 and 1,771 new cases have been confirmed by Chinese authorities on Tuesday morning.

The total number of confirmed cases has climbed to almost 4,500 in China alone, with 26 new deaths reported in the country on Tuesday. Most of those who have died are from Hubei province, at the epicentre of the outbreak.

In addition to air transmission, the coronavirus can be spread through physical contact, China’s National Health Commission (NHC) said on Tuesday.

The incubation period of the new virus was on average three to seven days, with the longest being no more than 14 days, the NHC stated, adding that the coronavirus strain was 85 per cent similar to severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars).

The increase is about what I would expect. Especially if China is limited on testing.

What is new is that the incubation is usually much shorter than 14 days at 3 to 7 days.

Short of mass annihilation of those infected or exposed to the virus, what do you propose?

I am hoping it weakens too, but I bought some goggles, canned meats, and storable staples like rice and mac and cheese.
Not stuff I normally eat, but could. Just in case.

If I don’t need them I plan to give them to a food bank in 3 months.

If they're admitting to 106 & 4500, the real numbers are somewhere between 10 and 100 times higher.

First of all tell the Chinese Government to allow our scientists in there since they dropped the ball. Next stop all flights to/from China, and stop all Chinese tourists from crossing our border from Canada.

That’s right and the first step in that direction is to prevent any connecting or direct flights from China from entering the US.

Better yet stop all travel to and from China period. Stopping a potential pandemic is far more important than making money. money is of no use if you’re dead.
