But if it wasn't for the Fairness Doctrine being trashed, talk radio wouldn't have taken off as it did. Rush Limbaugh would never have been able to have the airtime and audience he can rightfully boast of.

I think it was in Rush’s first book that he explained it very well, how the end of the Fairness Doctrine opened the marketplace wide open.
