The usual rules, like “put your witness on a list - if you don’t, you can’t call at trial,” those have some narrow exceptions (in the interest of justice), but are by and large enforced.

In contrast, impeachment is an affair between the House and the senate. To run properly, there needss to be good faith. Or at least enough of it to overcome the inevitable cranks.

Our government does not operate in good faith, on anything. Neither does our press.

This case will eventually resolve on party lines, just like it started.

In a real court, ambush or surprise witness are prohibited. Its considered both bad faith and a violation of due process.

You must stick to what’s been agreed to. But Democrats and their captive media act like the rules don’t apply to them.

And the President’s Dream Team re Bolton, doesn’t want to legitimize, let alone reward, this kind of conduct.
