Some crooks want to scare the market down radically during these situations, so they can get into some action. They want to start a panic and buy extremely low. They don’t care if the markets are left in perpetual ruins as a result, because they’re spoiled rotten and like to make messes anyway.
I don't think anyone year is talking about a perpetual ruin - but some of us are market timers - we know when to take profits and sit on the sideline for awhile. Just sayin
