Aren’t there whole cities or at least shopping malls that have been built in China that are empty? Why not triage patients in one of those places?

They were doing earthwork in preparation for pre-fab buildings for a new hospital. They were showing images of the first building hastily dropped there this morning with the claim that they had built it in 16 hours.

Whether bats in the food market or a military bio-warfare mistake, it's bad publicity for the PLA. So they're trying to do damage control with extreme measures.

I heard that the hospital will follow the same example they used before and it will be one of 2 trailer hospitals - not a regular building as some of us thought.

Maybe you missed the Chinese female doctor 3 days ago who is being widely quoted in her heavy west china accent saying that ‘90,000 are infected’ or sometimes ‘90,000 could become infected’. According to native speaking Chinese here on FR she actually said 90,000 are DEAD.
