I disagree. All of this was going to happen as soon as democrats got control of the House, which has the sole power of impeachment. The dems were talking impeachment before the Inauguration. Had they taken the House in ‘16, PDJT would have been impeached several times already. If he isn’t removed, I imagine there will be more articles forthcoming in the year or years ahead. The only ones who could have stopped it were the dems in the House.

McConnell’s role in this is now that it is in the Senate. I don’t know that he has the power or votes to simply toss the impeachment charges.
