BTW, off topic, Froggy...FroggyTheGremlin was on the Big John and Sparky radio program in the 50s, right? “Plunk your magic twanger, Froggy...BOINNG...Hiya kids, hiya, hiya!
Not the “Big Jon and Sparky” radio show, but the “Smilin’ Ed’s Gang” radio show.
Froggy was on the Buster Brown-sponsored show hosted by “smilin’” Ed McConnel at first, then by Andy Devine.
The show would feature guest speakers who would give lectures on say, fishing. The lecturer would have a bowl of worms. He would pick it up and Froggy would appear and say “and you dump it on your head.” The kids in the audience would laugh hysterically.
The show also had Midnight the cat, who purred “ni-i-i-ce” and Squeaky the mouse.
Gunga Rom, the Elephant Boy, with his pet pachyderm Tila, also appeared as a regular in films.
“My dog’s name is Tige. He lives in a shoe. I’m Buster Brown. I live in there too.”
The show was a big part of my childhood in the early fifties.
I wonder if there are youtubes on the net?
