On Thursday, a student at Tennessee Tech University presented with very mild symptoms, and with his recent travel history met the criteria for testing for possible infection with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Health providers quickly recognized that the patient met the criteria for coronavirus testing, but nothing has been confirmed. The individual is being kept isolated while precautionary testing is being conducted. Tennessee Tech and healthcare professionals continue to communicate and collaborate with the Tennessee Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control.
The Tennessee Department of Health advises that while we await test results, there are no specific actions other individuals need to take. As soon as more information about the situation becomes available it will be made aware to be made to the public.

I hope to heck hospitals are developing a protocol for how to funnel these people, especially those who don’t arrive masked, into the facility in a way that lessens the risk to others in the facility.
The student in Texas was sent home for “self isolation”. Yeah, uh huh. We know how that’s gonna work out. Everyone in the house using the same bathroom and taking him food and whatever in and out of his room and they’ll be going in and out of the house to who knows where. Guessing this kid is also being “self isolated”.
China is locking things up throwing away the key and we’re like, hey, whatever. Bet this will pop up in more colleges within days. Incubation time just after the new semester.
I wonder how long he sat around until somebody saw him. If he was masked while he waited. And if anyone sanitized the area he had been sitting in after he left it.
How about the other 600 people that he infected on the airplane?
If he had HIV, he'd be out on the street - no worries.
The authorities have contact info for them. Not everyone in a hospital is an employee or a patient.
That’s a big airplane, even for China Air.
The ebola guy in Dallas a few years ago sat around for quite some time.
