The governor of Oklahoma has banned all state-funded travel to California after officials there placed a similar ban on travel to his state.
Oklahomas Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who is in his first term, announced the ban in an executive order on Thursday, barring all non-essential travel by state employees to the Golden State, with exceptions for business recruiting trips, college sports games and trips by schools to participate in out-of-state programs.
Enough is enough, Stitt said. If Californias elected officials dont want public employees traveling to Oklahoma, I am eager to return the gesture on behalf of Oklahomas pro-life stance.

If Oklahoma had any sense it would ban Californians, period. Look how they have ruined other states they have moved to.

Red ain't Conservative. Don't use the Orwellian newspeak media false labels.

100% Conservative GOP Blue for Trump in 2016.

About time. Every single pro life state that has been boycotted by these far left crazies should hit right back.

“State-funded travel” is a swindle on the taxpayers. If anybody working for either state has business with the other, use the telephone.

I wonder if conservatives went with red because it’s the background of the Confederate battle flag. And blue was the color of Union uniforms.

Network newsroom graphics staff decided on the colors.

Up until the Reagan era, the tv networks alternated the party colors for tv graphics with each election cycle. At some point in the 80’s or early 1990’s (I forget which year), the networks all simultaneously decided to lock in the current red-blue color scheme. Most of us presume that this was deliberate and coordinated.

The GOP could have corrected them.

They have no authority over network newsroom staff. They could have said, “Hey, we don’t like this!” and had the newspeople laugh at them, but how would that help?

I would hope every state would adopt a policy of reciprocity. ie You van it for us then automatically we return the favor and ban it for you.

I think it is. If the GOP began an embargo on the color red and used blue exclusively for official stationery and campaign events, the media would eventually get the message.

Maybe, but what would be the payoff? I doubt there are ten people in the country who see the color red and think “Confederacy.” “The Blue and the Gray” is the trope, not “The Blue and the Red.”

Every red, or purplish red, state should ban California...and...
Trump should slap tariffs on them..i know he can’t do it..but it feels good to say it. :)

I think it was a transitional thing. As the GOP became more southern in its orientation, the move towards red made sense, because blue would merely remind Southerners that Republicans were the party of Lincoln, the villain in the War of Northern Aggression.
