Actually what the Democrats are doing is trying gas-light the entire country.
It should be boiling down to a different word - treaty.
President Clinton signed and the Senate approved a treaty with Ukraine that SPECIFICLY allows each nation to request assistance with investigations. A treaty carries the weight of Federal law and is the law of the land. If a law says something is legal (say driving 55 mph) then there is no crime.
No crime means no obstruction
