Yep. I have had twelve surgeries over a 30 year span. Some very serious accidents with extensive damage to my leg, shoulders, abdomen, ribs and lungs, and then the usuals like appendectomy, and hernia repair. They used to keep you in to monitor white cell counts for infection. Wound or incision care, pain management, and immobilization.

Now they put broad spectrum antibiotics in your IV before surgery and after surgery. They schedule you to go to the specialists office for wound care. Write you a script for worthless pain meds like Vicodin or Oxycon, and feed you oral antibiotics as a prevention measure to infection. What used to be a 5 day hospital stay is now outpatient services.

This is a virus so the local fleet farm store stock of antibiotics isn't going to do much. I sure hope they have an effective antiviral for this in sufficient quantities?

I think it’s more a case of...if China, where most antibiotics are manufactured, is shut down for 6 months while they deal with this, what if you need antibiotics for something...?
