US hospitals are not equipped for this either. Most have very few beds or rooms. Everything is done as an outpatient these days. A city of 40,000 in the U.S. would be lucky if they had 100 beds. They bag you with an IV, Treat you, roll you into a cab with scripts to fill, and send you on your way. Even fairly complicated surgery is not even an overnite stay.

The modern medicine model these days is like a restaraunt turning their tables. Get em in, Treat them, and discharge them before the morphine fades.

I got sent home with a PICC line and several bags of antibiotics.
