I doubt Trump agreed with him, he probably agreed that he needed to vote his conscience. Sadly, siding with the toxic Democrats on any issue now is damning.

Yes, that is sad, because Republicans are not always right. There are some war-mongering Republicans and President Trump needs to stay on their good side through this impeachment BS.

But in private, I do not doubt for one minute that the President sympathized, and agreed that Matt Gaetz should vote his conscience.

President Trump ran on getting us out of these endless wars in the Middle East. There is nothing wrong with a man of good conscience holding him accountable to that promise, and I am sure the President expects nothing less.

Gaetz continues to be a strong advocate for the President and if the defense team snubbed him over the foreign policy disagreement, it’s their loss and the President’s.
