I agree. McNeil-Lehrer was usually very good at having opposing and well-articulated viewpoints on current issues; something sorely lacking these days.

I began watching the Newshour at about 25. It quickly replaced the network news for me and allowed for alternative viewpoints on issues instead of quick pictures and sound bites. Don’t know about Jim’s politics but did enjoy him and Robyn.
