Once upon a time, I was all set to go to the U of M but the Marine Corps recruiter made a better offer. I gave up keggers and protests to serve my country instead. (Truth be told, I did manage to squeeze a frat kegger or two in later with some buddies that attended there.)

This is serious. They have already set it up so they can fire you and jail you for using the “wrong” pronouns. They are serious about it. Yes, they’re insane, but they are the ones making the rules.

I’d call the U of Minn administrator’s who came up with this hairbrained idea a bunch of stupid a-holes, but they’d accuse me of being insensitive to those dealing with colon cancer. I say play it safe and refer to each other as apparently sentient blobs of protoplasm. But that would be offensive to those who self identify as trans terrestrial.
