Progressives are getting dangerously hysterical, building on Democrats’ win-at-all-costs rhetoric.
Schiff preemptively rejecting the outcome of the upcoming election is extremely dangerous, persuading the Left to prepare for their worst-case scenario (to wit: “orange dictatorial crime lord stole election and will put y’all in death camps”).
At least the 2016 outcome was a surprise, leaving the Left rattled for years.
2020 is predictable (short of a viable dark horse or outright assassination), and those opposing Trump are largely deciding it will be a sociopolitical apocalypse - and will prepare & respond accordingly.
We desperately need an “adult in the room”, a respectable Democrat (hopefully Dershowitz will do), to declare “this is not a viable case, there is no reason for hysteria, y’all get this crap out of here and get on with getting elected legitimately”. Otherwise (and likely) the Senate will soon vote to close this absurdity, leaving the Left whining about being victims of bias and what a horribly dangerous state they’re in now.
Only hope is this gets dismissed cleanly & quickly, and the public’s short-term attention span moves on to other nonsense ASAP.
