Youtube knows there are lots of live feeds and prob sees no reason for more. Seems like a bandwidth business decision to me.

Bandwidth consumption is based on audience size, not the number of feeds. 10,000 feeds going to 10,000 people has the exact same bandwidth consumption as 1 feed going to 10,000 people.
