I don’t think it’s accurate because there’s no way Hispanics and whites combined commit fewer than 5%... what with MS13 and the drug cartels.

I think Hispanics would be included in “young male minorities”. But Hispanics and blacks make up about 30% of the US population and young minority males would be less than 10% of the total population.

I think the figure is more like 1/2 to 2/3 of murders, which is still an impressive percentage. But I’m pretty sure Bloomberg’s 95% is too high.

Here's something from Wikipedia that looks about like stats I've heard in the past.

In 2013, African Americans accounted for 52.2% of all murder arrests, with Whites 45.3% and Asians/Native Americans 2.5%. Of the above, 21.7% were Hispanic.[52][53]

That indicates that minorities of all ages commit about 76% of murders, so Bloomberg's statement is far off the mark, even though the actual facts are more than bad enough.
