Accepting a lifetime achievement award during Sunday's annual Screen Actors Guild awards, actor Actor Robert De Niro took a veiled jab at US President Donald Trump.
Stepping onto the stage to a rousing standing ovation and cheers at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday evening, De Niro said, 'there´s right, and there´s wrong and there's common sense, and there´s abuse of power, and as a citizen I have as much right as anyone else ... to voice my opinion.'
'And if I have a bigger voice because of my situation, I´m going to use it whenever I see a blatant abuse of power. And that´s all I´m going say about that tonight,' the actor added.

Time can en-noble or erode. There's not much left there. I must say that I did enjoy his role as an a-hole talk show host getting blown away by Joaquin Phoenix in The Joker.

I watched about a third of the Irishman before I had to turn it off. I thought it was boring, awkward (as you said) watching senior citizens playing 30 year old tough guys and I kept wondering why the Hell they did it. Did they really need the money? It seemed like a parody of a bad Hollywood producers meeting to get the old gang of Mob movie actors together for one last fling. In the 70s and 80s, they were great in these movies. Now its a farce. It really is.
I’ll never forget watching an NFL Giants home game many years ago, from the Medowlands stadium.
Near the end zone, there was a guy holding up a big, home made sign with the words “Jimmy Hoffa” and a big arrow pointing downwards!
The commentators made a joke about it.

I can’t watch any of his movies anymore now that he has been exposed as a complete jerk off. He gets a lifetime achievement award for pretending to be someone else. He must really be envious of a really successful man who is the best president in decades. Little Bobby wants some cheese to go with his whine. One of my employees grew up near Detroit and his neighbor was Jimmy Hoffa. He said, Jimmy was nice to the neighborhood kids as he let them fish on his property and he even made dinner for the kids and the parents. Jimmy said, the only time they couldn’t go in the house was when he was having a meeting.
