I don’t pretend to be able to predict the future...but it seemed obvious that all the noise,,,or most of it anyway...about false flags and Antifa and violence were merely propaganda (our enemy’s favorite tool) designed to reduce the impact of the peaceful rally. Everyone seemed more worried about how it would look in the fake media than about the reality of the situation facing America as the Leftists go on offense to attempt to destroy us once and for all. There move here was akin to the impeachment move in that way. If we don’t fight now, then when? If we aren’t willing to risk bad PR, what are we willing to risk?
I think the facts on the ground bear out that this was was all noise trying to fake us out. I could be wrong, but look at the massive crowd of armed men and women...massive. Do you strike an army when it is aware and expecting you to try something? The numbers here are too great in our favor...any attempt to foment violence here will result in disaster for those instigating it. Don’t fear propaganda.

No, because conservatism doesn't begin and end with Donald Trump, and I don't spend much time with other teachers. I spend it with the students.
It's not about trying to get in the face of other teachers, that's pointless. It's about giving the kids another view of the issues than the ones they've been given. It's about letting them know that Democrats are the ones who won't allow their father to have a gun in the house to protect his family. It's about letting them know that Democrats will abort a baby in its ninth month. It's about showing them how the climate change rhetoric has been exaggerated and manipulative for decades. It's about letting them know that an open border will endanger them as drug gangs come into the neighborhood. It's about giving them classical literature to read that teaches moral values rather than social values.
It's hard work, and if you're not up to it, it's best to just admit it's too much for you rather than pretend it cannot be done. If I can do it for 16 years in Los F-ing Angeles with a 98% Latino student population, you bet your soft, sorry behind it can be done!

If I read you right, you hide your conservativeness from your fellow teachers. Are there any others like you at your school? Do you waiver from a school-endorsed curriculum when you discuss those things you mentioned? Is there any national group you know of pushing for a more diverse and inclusive teaching approach?
My kid’s MIL is a senior, tenured public school teacher, NEA/progressive all the way. Not to generalize, but my guess is most are like her.i
As for conservatives needing to get into teaching, the same goes for school textbooks, churches, MSM, Hollywood and social media. Conservatives have not fought the progressive tide, I agree. But, I also think we just were’t aware of, and maybe just couldn’t believe, the depth of the progressive incursions, noted prior.

There's also a misconception about curriculum. Teachers are crabby enough in general that none of us want to be told what literature to teach, so principals are not surprised when I say that I know what books I want to teach, and my last principal bought me a class set of every book I asked for. Let me tell you, absolutely NONE were written after 1960. They tell us what skills they want us to teach, but they leave the choice of literature to us.
No, I don't know of any national group. I'm not unique, or at least I shouldn't be. We will lose this war if we don't get boots on the ground, and public school is the ground. Yes, most teachers are left wing, but that's because they are the only ones, by and large, who are willing to do the job. And I just get so sick of Freepers ragging on teachers when that attitude is exactly WHY we are where we are. Because conservatives would rather talk trash about teachers than actually get in there and BE one. It's "beneath them" I guess.
Which goes back to my original post: If not now, when? If we don't protest as soon as the bill is introduced, what possible effect could we have if we pick and choose - always after the fact?
With the Media against us, it will never get to be a point in time when we can pick our battles. We have to confront them now.
