The link to tyranny is the “state of emergency” in which the executive gets powers over the people that he normally doesn’t have.
So, when he wants to become a dictator, he declares a state of emergency and gets to do what ever he wants.

Where’s the land of the free?

The Dems have not had control for a long time so there is a lot of catch up. I suspect the voters will simply let them roll over them.

You cannot help those who do not wish to be helped. The majority in VA want this.

Now that public schools are merely indoctrination facilities, this is our future.

Amendment XIV Section 3:

"No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."

Republicans have long known how to deal with rebellious Virginia Democrats.

Our Governor in Arkansas is trying to import more fake refugees. He wants a voting block like they have Deerbornistan. Of course we are promised yet again that these will be Christians facing persecution and that they will be a financial and social benefit.

How did the state allow a white man in blackface or KKK robe to stay in office?

Dems skate, GOP goes to prison is my usual reply, meaning totally crooked two tiered system of alleged justice. Which deserves no respect. Isn’t that stuff one of their “hate crimes”? Or just white supremacist racism?

He’s still the governor and acting now like the emperor.

changes the governor’s term from 4 to 8 years

electoral votes for president will go to the candidate who has won the national popular vote

Governors, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General... change to who wins the majority in Congressional districts. In case of a tie, the General Assembly...

.

This is going WAY beyond unconstitutional anit-2A laws.

This is destroying the very fabric of a Republican form of government.

.

This is going to become “just” drastic or very ugly as the progs are too stupid to understand what circumstances they are creating.

No middle ground on this one.

.

When Democrats took the majority in Virginia the last election, they quickly put on the table a package of radical laws

Which will happen WHEREVER these rats gain the majority. God save us all.

“Imminent Need” is how they are gonna ram through their unconstitutional gun grabbing laws- They will claim the need to pass it is so great because of ‘gun violence’ that they don’t have to answer to anyone- they will just pass it- like NY did

Why do you cut it off in the middle of a sentence? That just makes it clickbait (and a sentence stump).

Just post the dang article instead of clickbait.

Here is the rest of the sentence stump.

****************

In case of a tie, the General Assembly will pick the winner.

The people of Virginia have had enough. A huge pro-gun rally was scheduled for January 20th outside of the state’s capitol building in Richmond. Of course Governor Northam wouldn’t be a proper despot if he just let the people exercise their First and Second Amendment rights so he declared a state of emergency.

Governor Northam declares a State of Emergency ahead of pro-gun rally/Youtube

His reasoning is absolutely mental. During a press conference on Wednesday, Governor Blackface declared that there was “online chatter” and “considered credible threats”, but refused to give details. He did say that it “mirrored” the online conversations that occurred shortly before the Charlottesville protests where disrupters showed up, and without a permit, blocked traffic, pounded on vehicles, and otherwise molested citizens and protesters alike. On orders, police stood down. As a result, one woman was killed when a panicked driver accelerated into a crowd.

I must have missed that part of the Constitution where is says, “shall not be infringed… Unless there is considerable online chatter.” And invoking the racially charged Charlottesville protest is a devious way of making people conjure up images of neo-Nazis with tiki torches, otherwise completely unrelated to a pro-gun rally. Is Governor Northam trying to create a fear of pro-gun activists and activate Antifa sleeper cells to confront Monday’s protestors? Probably. That’s what the Virginia Citizens Defense League believes, which they explained in the following alert:

“The Democrats are afraid of the voters and want to portray this peaceful assembly of law-abiding gun owners in the worst possible way. They would love for it to degenerate to ‘violence, rioting, and insurrection’ in order to smear gun owners. Has the Democrat leadership actually invited violent groups to attend for the purpose of disrupting our peaceful assembly?”

If a confrontation does occur, it will no doubt be reported as the pro-gun demonstrators’ predisposition for violence, reaffirming the left’s beliefs that all gun owners are evil.

Virginia is falling to tyranny. The government is acting imperiously, and interfering with the citizens’ avenues to keep them in check. The government is proposing laws to prevent themselves from being voted out or removed from office–a bright red flag–as well as banning the possession of guns and the use of militias as a last resort to force them out of office.

This is exactly why the Second Amendment was written and what our forefathers were trying to protect us from. What is even scarier is how rapidly Virginia has gone from more-or-less normal to near-complete tyranny.

This is the tyranny that our Founding Fathers foresaw, which they clearly and repeatedly warned us about it, and for which they made sure our inalienable rights were clearly stated in the Bill of Rights.

But those inalienable rights have been, and continue to be, infringed upon. And while the grossest example is currently happening in Virginia, we have allowed this happen since the first sweeping gun law was implemented – 1934’s National Firearms Act.

The representatives we elect, who are supposed to work for the citizens, have chosen to neglect us, as well as the Constitution they took an oath to uphold. They are autocrats.

This is a powder keg and the Democrats are scattering the matches, hoping for a spark. It’s a deliberate trap because they know that the people most likely to come out Monday in support of the Second Amendment are also distrusting of the government and their gun grabs. Sleazy Democrats can use the fallout for a political purpose. A single altercation, no matter how just and righteous it is, and they will depict any who oppose them with modern Nuremberg Laws, painting all gun owners as nutcases (or, as typical, racist somehow) and tie their own degradation of American rights to President Trump.

Without a doubt, this moment will be pivotal to the story of how the U.S. was destroyed, because if it happens in Virginia, it will happen everywhere else, too.

I started to think it was a Babylon Bee parody.
