It's not insecurity per se. The root cause is guilt. For instance, when someone knows (consciously or subconsciously) they did something wrong to their car (like bounce over a few curbs) they will be the ones angrily demanding the mechanic hurry up and fix it. Now!

They hope anger will lead to wiping out the guilt but it never will. Only facing and dealing with the guilt will remove it. Insecurity is just another symptom.

I’ll go with “Pride” for $500, Alex.

Their pride is based on false premises, and in their hearts the know it.

They got blue ribbons for showing up. They got no correction for wrong spelling of words. 2+2=5 is fine, we’ll work on that later. They could do no wrong. They could not be spanked or deservedly disciplined. They are, indeed, snowflakes.

In media, movies and higher politics, they further become narcissistic then egotistical. All for good looks or speaking, and reading lines they’re given — not their own works.

ANY threat to their thin and brittle mask is immediately and harshly deflected. That true nature and/or skill level SHALL NOT be exposed.
