McCarthy who was a grandstander, was a late arrival from the original House UnAmerican Activities Committee, which was expanded to the Senate. The original Red hunters were the democrats of that day, who are NOTHING like the ultra leftie commie sympathizers. McCarthy was largely CORRECT. Like her or not Anne Coulter has done (citing many correct sources) the research. There were Commies throughout ALL of FDR and Truman’s admin (some holdovers, Truman was NOT a bright man at all— the artillery corporal vs. the genius General McArthur comes to mind. Truman was, and should have stayed a suit salesman/haberdasher- and was— an a@@hole playacting at being a tough guy. There was a distinct reason he was left out of the Atomic Bomb/Manhatten Project knowledge— because he was so stupid, and a little mouthy man.
