Somebody here posited that Iran planned the shootdown in expectation that the US would raid Tehran that night.
And the blame America narrative was pre-coordinated.
I wouldn’t have any problem believing that.
Some posters have said that we shouldn’t throw any stones because we shot down an airliner over there, but I tend to view those circumstances quite differently.
You can say a lot of things about that incident, but the concept that it was deliberate was not one of them.
