A 23-year-old man fell to his death Saturday while jumping between rooftops in North Philadelphia, according to police.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. on the 1200 block of Buttonwood Street.
Police identified the man as third-year Drexel College of Medicine student Vivek Subramani.
Witnesses told police that they were jumping between the rooftops of their apartment building when Subramani did not make the jump, falling two stories down and hitting his head.
Witnesses also explained they had been drinking earlier in the evening

Normally, “drop out” is just a figure of speech. I’ve not been aware of this Darwinian version.

It’s sad for his family, though. I have a son the same age, and I’d be very sad (and disappointed) if he died so idiotically.
The good news is that it was probably painless.

If you look on youtube there are many videos of young kids jumping roof tops.
There must be gobs of them that don’t make it.
One would think that, but I don't think he's in any condition to comment on how much pain he did or didn't suffer.
I feel sorry for his loved ones. Terribly stupid thing to do but kids, and especially drinking while partying, come up with some pretty stupid ideas. Tragic. I wonder if the others will now stop this nonsense and sober up.

Parachute didn’t open, fall broken by a large tree, someone runs up the the ‘jumper’ and says
“What happened?”
“I don’t know, I just got here myself”
If you don’t want people ‘making fun of you’, don’t do stupid things and give them the opportunity.
Drinking and doing things on a dare. Should disqualify anyone from being a medical student.
Sounds like another “Hold muh beer and watch this” moment ... among many such moments.
