People that prey on the elderly, if found, should be publicly flogged.

When my mother started with dementia we took all her active credit cards and gave her some expired ones. THANKFULLY, she forgot her SS#.

I am thinking now we should have given her a fake SS# with 8 digits.

To have a scammer waste there time for nothing talking to a dementia sufferer with bad information makes me smile.

A colonoscopy with a cattle prod would also be appropriate.

Occasionally a f I have time when a scammer calls I say “thanks for calling back I’m glad we can get xxxxxxx going now” and just randomly put them on hold and change topics repeatedly asking absurd questions

Got one at Christmas time on I put on hold for 40 minutes and when I came back he was still waiting

Should be, but when the law brushes it off or says not my job, whatcha gonna do?

A co-worker's uncle was suffering from the on-set of dementia and co-worker was asked to tend to his uncle's affairs. This uncle lived in DC and was relatively well-off. My friend went to his condo, started checking his financial status and found that his uncle had been donating almost daily to "Police Benevolence Fund' "Firefighters in Need", "Fallen Heros Fund" and a host of others..All were checks mailed out to different addresses but ALL deposited to the same bank account in Arizona. He immediately had his uncle's phone number changed and took his checkbook away from him(no easy task) My co-worker called..DC Police, Arizona State Police, County police in Arizona and the FBI...All he got was the runaround, all said it wasn't in their jurisdiction..All in all, my co-worker spent 3 months trying to get someone to look into this but was never able to find anyone. Ended up being a 45k dent in this gentleman's finances but as I said, he was well off and lived out his years fine.
