What kind of government even allows a commercial airplane to depart hours after launching missiles knowing a very high probability retaliation airstrikes were going to occur.
Undoubtedly, US aircraft were in the area waiting for permission to fire which of course never came. But the Iranians did not know that. If US airstrike had occured . . . who would have taken the blame?
