Oh I know... if you switched everything to electric you would need a lot more electrical generation capacity.
You have to replace the billions of gas pumps with electrical charging stations.... and need a complete upgrade to the electrical infrastructure.
This would take 5-10 years if the government made it number one priority and subsidized and it... and TRILLIONS of dollars... but its not, so the idea that we are just a few years away from an all electric car society is comical... and a pipe dream.
First thing that has to be solved is the range and recharge issue.. YOu must get range to what I have stated, and recharge down to the time frame I have indicated before an electric car is a viable replacement for most peoples vehicle needs.
Once you have that, then you have to deal with the infrastructure issues mentioned above, because the existing system can’t support it.
Reality is, even after they solve the technical issues of range and charging, you have many years and huge money spends required to get to a majority (let alone a soley) electric powered vehicle nation.
Heck, if it took ten minutes to fill a gas tank, most people would find that unacceptable.
