Is this guy a H-1B hire? It seems the universities are full of foreign teachers. I guess the universities bring them over on visas and pay them half the salary of US Citizens.
On the one hand one can question a leftist being fired for a very bad joke. On the other hand, conservatives are routinely fired for far less and the leftists who always talk about pushing the envelope of acceptable speech always want to fire and sometimes imprison conservatives over the slightest disagreement. That is the culture the left has created.

To the students who have indebted themselves into penury for the foreseeable future, that 100 grand likely looks like one bleep of a lot more money than they’ll ever see.
He’s still drawing funds and despite their claims he’s still an employee on PAID LEAVE.

Yet they fire someone who makes a joke that is actually in sync with the politics of their own administration.

Like when Schiff tried to spin his blatant boldfaced lying to congress as a joke.
These people make themselves sound worse when they try to use that defense.
Is it only lefties that do this?
At least retain some level of believably and say that you were tryign to make a point, albeit through a misguided sense of moral relativism that was very poor judgement. Trying to raise the idea that Iran’s perspective is that attacking our general is like terrorism or that our keeping Iranian cultural sites on the table is not a good look, while it wont play well to the ‘our’ side, is more believable than saying we should help the enemy commit acts of terrorism against us as a JOKE!
Then again, it probably wasn’t a joke, because all BS about moral relativism aside, you really have to wonder which side he thinks ‘us’ is
ALL of academia has to get out of the role of being “police monitors” of speech that occurs outside the walls of academia. Their only concern should be some things from what is said by instructors in the course of their instruction. And even then they have to not take words out of the context in which they are given.
But don’t you know, Big Daddy Stalinist Sugar will pay off all their debts, so it’s all good.
Sadly they are successful.

No doubt it will be difficult for the college to carry on until this very important position can be filled again.
Not me! I’m holding out for a Board of Directors position, the kind Chelsea Clinton has. More pay, less work, no knowledge of anything in particular required!

Well, the janitor at that school probably makes $90K. But then HE has to actually WORK. Plus everybody has some idea as to what a janitor does.
LOL! Sums it up quite nicely. There are few things more satisfying than seeing a lefty hoisted on his own petard.
I'm sure that's what these boneheads are praying for. Sigh.
