Private company's (Fisher) planned border wall along Rio Grande can proceed, judge rules

A federal judge (U.S. District Judge Randy Crane) lifted a temporary restraining order against a project to build a privately funded border wall next to the Rio Grande...

Tommy Fisher, owner of Fisher Sand & Gravel, a North Dakota-based construction firm, had been waiting for the chance to prove he can build President Trump’s signature border wall faster and better than the government...

Fisher has said his crews could start work as soon as Sunday and finish in eight days.

Fisher has argued the government was being overly cautious by building walls far away from the river. His crews plan to grade the riverbank and clear brush from the properties, which he says will improve water flow and reduce erosion.

“We’ve proved you can build right where the agents need it,” Fisher said. “It’s not border security when you’re a mile, two miles, three miles off the border.”

Fisher’s construction company, which has already won a $400 million border wall contract in Arizona, wants to install three miles of steel posts roughly 35 feet from the U.S. bank of the river. The posts would go on private land, with a concrete road behind them intended for law enforcement.

The project was originally announced by We Build the Wall, a Florida-based nonprofit founded in December 2018

This green light comes the same day as the 5th Circuit Court lifting the restriction on $3.6 billion in Military Construction funds, which is going to produce a flurry of additional wall building (175 miles worth).

The NY Times adds: "The rulings came as Chad Wolf, the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, traveled to Yuma, Ariz., to host a news conference on Friday to celebrate the construction of 100 miles of Mr. Trump’s border wall."

Galvanized "Riverwall", 35 feet from the water's edge, 8 feet above the normal water level, with a concrete patrol road inside the barrier, and a cleared observation area of about 150 feet - along with grid powered lighting and detection technologies.

3.5 miles in eight days! Smoking quick.

They have had time to prepare the ground and station materials, but even so, its impressively quick.

Full disclosure: I have been a donor to this project right FRom the get-go.

Please take a few minutes and view some of the videos - particularly those that feature Foreman Mike! He is a hoot, and he IS BUILDING THE WALL!

If you believe that the wall is important to the safety and security of the USA, perhaps you will be persuaded to make a contribution.

If you contribute $75.00, Don Jr. will send you a copy of his book; “Triggered.”

FReegards,

Border Report (Sandra Sanchez) reports: "During 75 minutes of testimony on Thursday, Fisher repeatedly said he believes his bollard system is superior from current government fences that are going up on the Southwest border to deter illegal immigration, because the slats in between the bollards are spaced 5-inches. This allows for greater water to flow through, and even will allow endangered species like ocelots to pass through unharmed, he told the court. He also said it has greater visibility to the river for Border Patrol agents because it is directly on the shoreline."

and,

"said that he is currently working with a local realtor in South Texas to help get the rights to build on up to 100 more miles of private riverfront property along the Rio Grande. Fisher said he has leased the riverfront section of this property where he is building. He told Border Report that once the structure is completed he hopes to sell it back to the federal government for their use. He said he will offer the fence to the federal government for $14 million for the strip, or $16.5 million including 10 years maintenance on the property."

The team of Fischer and We Build The Wall, with an assist from Steve Bannon, are going to change the whole narrative of how many miles can be built by 2020. In February President Trump expected to have over 200 miles built by 2020. Now, when the Arizona private land bill gets passed, and it will get passed, you are looking at closer to 300 miles by 2020 and most of it will be built at 35% less cost.

We Build The Wall and Fischer are building on the most challenging areas of the border, where the Cartels and Illegals have taken advantage of (and doing it for $6 million a mile). Every mile they build funnels the crossers into smaller and smaller “Kill Zones”, making it much easier for Border Patrol to do the job.

Ann Colter is gonna lose a whole lotta book sales. I can’t wait for President Trump to punk her out on Twitter.

President Trump has a strong, loyal army of true Americans and the Democrats just can’t beat that!

Ann Coulter was originally in Trump’s camp. Maybe she will be again.

She is (way) too susceptible to others, who get her off topic way, way too fast.

But she was originally.

“Ann Colter is gonna lose a whole lotta book sales.”

I was amazed that she was running down President Trump on the Wall even today, as all these major wall developments were breaking the President’s was.

I have come to the conclusion that it is deliberate sabotage on her part, and that she is not simply mistaken. She is a sell out to the Left.

Tomorrow (10 Jan) Homeland Security will be celebrating over 100 miles completed during the Trump Administration.

We are currently building between two and three miles per week, but a tidal wave of additional money will be going on contract in the next few months, and some recent contract awards will be starting work. We should be running a mile a day this Summer.

Fisher recently got about a quarter billion dollar piece of a recent award, so they will soon start that direct Government-funded segment as well.

Any privately funded wall will be a bonus. A Border Report story today indicated that Tommy Fisher is looking for 100 more miles of riverfront in Texas to build private wall (He intends to sell or lease it to the Government). That is the first I have heard, about him having such large plans on the privately-funded side of things.

Regardless, the Government’s wall building program is going into hyper drive this year, with the tidal wall of money pouring into the effort.

The first week I heard about “WE BUILD THE WALL” I donated a $100, couple of months later another hundred, 2 months ago another 100.

I will be donating another hundred at the end of this month.

I just want them to weld my name on one of the bollards, I even thought of emailing Mr. Kolfage with a request.
You know, kind of like having your name on one of the bricks in a memorial wall.

Didn’t do it, but perhaps I will this time.

Thank you for your donations to “WE BUILD THE WALL.”

I have not been able to donate quite that much, but I donate to them as often as I can. Lotta deserving groups out there need help, and I do what I can, when I can.

Maybe one day I can sendem enough to get mine and Mrs. Taxman’s name on a bollard.

IMHO, building the wall is one of the most important projects of my lifetime!

I first moved to San Diego in Dec. 1965, and, IIRC, the issue of a border wall was a hot topic THEN! The POOBAHS were arguing about it just as they are today!

And, IIRC, the wall has been funded several times in several administrations and nothing of substance was ever done.

I hope President Trump builds an impregnable wall the entire length of the Mexican border, where it is appropriate! (I recognize that there are places where a wall is not needed.)

WALLS WORK!

Coulter has been comparing Trumps campaign promises to actual delivered work.

My tagline, which I began using 4 years ago, in 2015, was based on his promises.

I, too, am SO HAPPY that this project has been so successful!

I and EVERY REAL AMERICAN thanks you for your donations to “WE BUILD THE WALL.”

WALLS WORK!

Just ask the LIEberals who have walls around their property: Ophonybama, Hitlery Clinton, Nanzi Pelosi, DiFi, Joe Kennedy, III, Mad Maxine Waters, George Soros, and Mark Zuckerberg, among others.

In fact, I’d wager that most of the LIEberals in America would agree with me: WALLS WORK!

‘I hope President Trump builds an impregnable wall the entire length of the Mexican border’

This what I think would fit Trumps definition of a ‘Big Beautiful Wall’.

“Coulter has been comparing Trumps campaign promises to actual delivered work.”

One critical piece of work that has been delivered already, is getting 11.3 billion dollars. Done. ($4.6 in appropriations, 2017-2020; and $6.7 billion through the President’s extraordinary and emergency measures)

You have done construction, and know that things are not finished in a month or two. Typically, years of preparation precede any major construction (planning, design, financing, permitting, etc.) - even more so with Government programs. All that has been occurring. A lot has actually been finished (like planning, design and financing; as well as long lead time Government Contracting actions).

Not only has $11.3 billion dollars already been made available for contracting specific highly prioritized segments (509 miles, plus whatever the 2020 appropriation will build, probably 60-70 more) - but the President is free this year to invoke the same measures that he used last year, to take more funds from other sources.

If the President re-allocates as much this year as he did in 2019 ($6.7 billion), it would total a nice round $18 billion in his first term - inside the range of estimates for the total bill. Essentially, the barrier required in the Comprehensive Plan to Achieve Full Operational Control of the Southern Border (about half of the total length of the border), will be funded and on contract this year, as well as technology (”virtual fence”) for the whole of the border.

The contractors will need about another year beyond 2020 to finish their work, but the Government’s work of funding, specifying and contracting are well on track to complete in President Trump’s first term - enough to secure the whole of the Southern Border, as analyzed painstakingly by the experts.

Who else could have accomplished that, in the face of all the resistance and obstacles? Certainly not Ann Coulter.

Ann Coulter knows the magnitude of the efforts expended by the Trump Administration, and the magnitude of the accomplishment made. She persists in being deliberately misleading about it, spinning it even more negatively than the NY Times.

The true bottom line is that President Trump is delivering border security far beyond what any other candidate would have, or probably could have done - essentially securing the border in his first term, as promised, despite epic obstruction (including Ann Coulter’s treachery).
