Children should not be free in the same sense that adults can be tolerated to be. That is not “progressive”, for progressivism now demands they should be free, among other things, to mutilate themselves and ruin their lives in an effort to help the perverted get their way in society.
Sorry, but see my reply above...It should be up to the parents if they want their kids to have a cell phone. Teens are running businesses now. A teen don’t want their parents to answer for their businesses...
