Why were 63 Canadians in Iran? Likely Iranian students of dual citizenship. Canada has some f'ed up system that foreign students can get citizenship. Maybe a fellow Canadian Freeper can chime in with more informed info.

Here’s some more food for thought.
Why would the Iranians have an anti-aircraft missile battery directly down range of Tehran airport in the flight path of routine passenger jet traffic?

To protect the airport from attack?

>>OR - maybe one or some of the passengers were defecting out of Iran, taking secrets or cash or gold with them (someone suggested on FR yesterday).
Wouldn’t doubt this.

>> Some Iranian reports have claimed the black boxes
were damaged, and parts of the recordings lost.
Sure they were. More likely, somebody shoved 50 kids out into the debris field (while it was still burning) to find and retrieve those flight recorders. Anything left is now stowed in some dark hole, probably never be seen again.

I posted this the morning after the missile attack:
“You can bet your ass that, knowing there were going to be missile launches into Iraq, Iranian air defense batteries were placed on a weapons free status. Some moron(s) in the Iranian air defense corps, fearing an immediate retaliatory attack, were a little too trigger happy and unloaded on a low-flying unidentified aircraft on an attack profile.
You can also count on the fact that we know exactly what happened to that aircraft...”
Mistake, yes, but only in the sense that they shot down what they almost certainly thought was a low-level attack profile; missiles don’t launch themselves.

Iranian investigators have insisted that the crash was an accident, but have refused to hand over the black box recorded to international investigators. Perfectly good planes don't crash, they get shot down. All the evidence so far points to this.

I wonder how Canada feels about this.Trudeau will slip into his Iranian gear and kiss their feet and beg for answers, he'll get none.

>> Anyone seen John Fn Kerry?
Good question.
Just last night, I was re-watching the episode of Ken Burns' Vietnam War documentary, in which John Kerry was making testimony to Congress, on behalf of the anti-war organization, VVAW*.
According to other witnesses and veterans in the doc, his testimony was demonstrably full of lies and misleading statements.
Has there EVER been a time when John Kerry wasn't a coward, liar, and traitor??!? And he's still at it!
Based on what's happened to Kerry, Obama, and many meddling turncoats (which is to say: *nothing*), the Logan Act appears to be utterly worthless. Enormous, obvious acts of treason go entirely unpunished.

Granted, but this plane had only been on the air 3 minutes at 7,000 feet with an outbound vector from the airport. I would think that if an enemy aircraft has penetrated to within 3 minutes of you airport, they’ve most likely have already launched their weapons and your missiles system doesn’t have anything left to protect.

An accident is when you dial a wrong phone number. It may have been mistaken identity but it was not an accident.

By tonight the Dems and MSM will be blaming Trump for the plane crash. If he hadn’t started this with Iran, this never would have happened. 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon or something like that.

No exchange here. It is as an attack by Iran.
