Jones definitely will vote to Acquit. He has been talking a more and more conservative game the past few months in a futile attempt to save his Senate Seat. He knows he is basically out in November but has a faint hope the power of incumbency along with a hint of conservatism might fool enough morons to slide by,
The truth is he will be lucky to get within 20 points of the Republican nominee.
Jones is a dead man walking.. he almost certainly will lose huge, but any prayer of keeping his job, even the most remote shot, is DOA if he votes for it....
So, he will either just accept he’s done and try to trade his vote for something from the Dems... but since his vote won’t get anything since they know they are going to never get impeachment conviction, and vote to convict... Or he will vote to acquit hoping beyond hope that he can somehow hold onto this thing.
The rest are up for re-election in states Trump took or almost took in 16.... I think that most senators in that situation know they literally are voting to lose their jobs if they vote for this crap and aren’t in the deepest of blue states and up this cycle.
No way in hell they will get all the Dems to vote to convict in the Senate, hell as much as the press likes to lie otherwise, they didn’t even get all the Dems in the house to vote for this crap.
Best case from a PR scenario for the Dems would be someone like a Collins or Romney breaking with the R’s and voting to convict... which I doubt is likely... Collins is in their cross hairs over Kavanaugh, so she would be the most likely wildcard... But folks like Corker and Flake are gone... so I while you could see Collins break, I highly doubt it will happen... If Corker or Flake were still there, I would say they would almost certainly break... The had TDS as bad as any leftist born.
