Senate Democrats begin breaking with Nancy Pelosi on articles of impeachment

Increasingly impatient Senate Democrats have started speaking out about their desire for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to turn over impeachment articles.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told Politico that House Democrats “should move on” and send the articles to the Senate.

“I think [the trial] needs to start, I really do. I can’t tell the House how to do their business. I would never try to tell Speaker Pelosi … Let us do what we have to do over here,” the red-state Democrat told a Washington Post reporter.

He also acknowledged that Pelosi’s holdout did accomplish one thing: pushing former national security adviser John Bolton to publicly admit his willingness to testify.

Jones is a dead man walking.. he almost certainly will lose huge, but any prayer of keeping his job, even the most remote shot, is DOA if he votes for it....

So, he will either just accept he’s done and try to trade his vote for something from the Dems... but since his vote won’t get anything since they know they are going to never get impeachment conviction, and vote to convict... Or he will vote to acquit hoping beyond hope that he can somehow hold onto this thing.

The rest are up for re-election in states Trump took or almost took in 16.... I think that most senators in that situation know they literally are voting to lose their jobs if they vote for this crap and aren’t in the deepest of blue states and up this cycle.

No way in hell they will get all the Dems to vote to convict in the Senate, hell as much as the press likes to lie otherwise, they didn’t even get all the Dems in the house to vote for this crap.

Best case from a PR scenario for the Dems would be someone like a Collins or Romney breaking with the R’s and voting to convict... which I doubt is likely... Collins is in their cross hairs over Kavanaugh, so she would be the most likely wildcard... But folks like Corker and Flake are gone... so I while you could see Collins break, I highly doubt it will happen... If Corker or Flake were still there, I would say they would almost certainly break... The had TDS as bad as any leftist born.

I have been posting this meme since the terrorist, the Salami, aka Qassem Soleimani was killed as an enemy combatant while ordering more attacks in Iraq against Americans. He thought that President Trump was impeached and therefore impotent to stop the attack on our Embassy.

These articles have already been reduced to “joke” status and are losing credibility every day that they are in Pelosi’s desk. Nah, they aren’t going to promise a Cabinet Post for a meaningless vote.

He may get something for his vote, I can’t remotely seeing a special election 2 year Senate fluke getting rewarded with a cabinet post for a largely meaningless vote.

His vote won’t be the one to remove Trump, and it won’t make the D vote unanimous, because there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO chance Manchin will ever vote to convict... so his vote and keeping it in line, just isn’t worth that much.

He may get some sort of reward for it, but it sure won’t be a cabinet level post.
