My kid says he has an app where they get paid to walk
What’s the catch ?
They want to tax them for the amount of driving they do as well as their contribution to climate change
The governor had better be very, very careful.
The tracking data is coming from apps each of us use daily.
A company buys the data from the app owners and compiles it into a report that they sell to the state.
All this is done without the individual’s knowledge.
Yes, they agreed to the terms and conditions when they downloaded the app.
“Under state law, most public entities are required to maintain detailed meeting records, and some are required to document their meetings in such a manner that is suitable for transcription.”
So let me get this straight: In an effort to make a point about how driving impacts the climate, the State of Maine contracts to vacuum up all the relevant data from Maine citizens to create a huge model. The violations of privacy being obvious to all, the State has decided to cease recording their public meetings so that — I guess — the citizens can’t turn-the-tables on their nefarious deeds?
This just goes to show one and all that government has no problems violating standards of decency and indeed actual laws in pursuit of power over the citizenry.
I sure hope so, too! LePage is fantastic. I'm still stunned that a true conservative like LePage ever managed to get elected in a modern-day New England state.
I occasionally hear him on the Howie Carr radio show. Funny as hell, too!
yes he was- Maine NEEDS him back- What made him so great was the fact that he was a down to earth local really- grew up poor- from what i understand- didn’t take crap from anyone- he3ld his own=- and tells it lie it is=- I hope Maine kicks collins to the curb and rehires Lepage- it’s such a great state- sure would be horrible if it goes liberal
The Second Congressional district of Maine is fairly conservative. We have our share of moonbats like everyone else.
It covers 80% of the State of Maine....and is 27,000 square miles in size. In area, it is the largest congressional district east of the Mississippi.
In November 2016 candidate Donald Trump carried the district by 10 points, earning him one electoral vote.
The First District is the liberal area of Maine....20% of the state in the southeast corner.
Maine has Constitutional Carry and Open Carry. In November 2016, Michael Bloomturd sponsored a ballot initiative which would have ended the private sales of firearms in Maine. Despite spending a lot of money, Bloomturd lost. The police chiefs of Maine sported Bloomturd’s measure, despite the fact that Maine has the lowest crime rate of any state.
Some of the police chiefs did commercials, in uniform, supporting Bloomturd’s gun grabbing measure.
The sheriffs of Maine also did commercials, in uniform, opposed to the measure. Bloomturd lost, the people of Maine won.
I’m looking forward to a LePage gubernatorial run in 2022. The man is very smart and as conservative as they come. LePage speaks his mind.....he makes President Trump look reserved in comparison.
I’m a big fan of the Howie Carr Show too.....every weekend afternoon, broadcast out of Boston, from 3 - 7 PM Eastern time.
