The Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), at the Israel Ministry of Defense revealed that a technological breakthrough has been achieved in the development of lasers for the interception of RAM (rocket, mortar, and artillery) threats, UAVs, and ATGMs
Head of the Directorate of Research and Development in the DDR&D, Brig. Gen. Yaniv Rotem stated: We are entering a new age of energy warfare in the air, land and sea. The R&D investments made by the DDR&D in the last years have placed the State of Israel among the leading countries in the field of high-energy laser systems. Throughout the year 2020 we will conduct a demo of our capabilities.

Finally found a way to install them on sharks’ heads?
Israel invents frick’n laser beam weapons.
Iran fails at the “spray and pray”.
China and Russia bragged about their hypersonic missiles,
well lasers move at the speed of light, checkmate.
And our HS students are being taught about the contributions to society by the LGBTQ community.
Correct.
And, numerous colleges and universities are seriously discussing lowering existing standards in STEM because not enough diversity exists in those courses across the nation.
The nice thing about laser weaponry is, it's always loaded.
But can it heal neuropathy of the feet?
Depends on the solution for atmospheric jitter. Taking a shot at long range is problematic, as dispersion and diversion of the beam occurs. Best to fire a laser defense from a high altitude position or from a space location.
The target image is roiled by refraction, reflectionobscured by dust, aerosols, clouds. The firing solution is where the target is in most probability located at a predicted moment of intercept.
“Finally found a way to install them on sharks heads?”
probably only useful in a border moat, though ...
“Depends on the solution for atmospheric jitter. Taking a shot at long range is problematic, as dispersion and diversion of the beam occurs.”
I thought ultra-high-power laser beams simply blasted though all of that by ionizing the atmospheric gases into a plasma channel ...

Next generation.
You can put them in the Rio Grande, if the sharks can stand fresh water.
“if the sharks can stand fresh water”
that would require genetically engineering a whole new species of sharks ...
Or putting lots of salt in the Rio Grande.
Or just using bull sharks.
Well, sharks have been excluded from fresh water for too long. It’s racism and discrimination. Hath not a shark gills. If you flail around in the water, doth he not bite. If you throw him a bloody shank of beef, doth he not lunge. Sharks come to the Rio Grande in hope, only to be repelled by the lack of salt. Aren’t they entitled to all the good things America has to offer, such as white men with blonde leg hairs.
Reagan was right, just too far ahead of his time.
The point of lasers is to deposit enough energy into the target to make it melt of detonate. Visible light has the problems with atmospherics, why not choose a different part of the EM spectrum and do the equivalent thing that a laser does, except use microwaves or something that isn’t hindered by the atmosphere so much?
I dunno. Ask one of those scientifical guys.
