AIN ASSAD AIR BASE, Iraq Iran struck back Tuesday for the killing of a top Iranian general last week, firing a series of ballistic missiles at two Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops in a major escalation.
Iranian state TV reported the strikes were in retaliation for the killing of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani, whose death Friday prompted angry calls to avenge his slaying.
A U.S. official said there were no immediate reports of American casualties.

Trump is expected to speak at 11 a.m., according to White House officials.

I heard the Iranians first warned the Iraqi they were going to attack, and the Iraqis informed the US.
