This is what the people who hate President Trump and seek to destroy him don't understand about him--and refuse to understand about him: He's committed to doing what's right, and whether or not he's popular, liked, disliked, or anything else is beside the point.

In fact, President Trump lives according to this:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Trump's enemies do not believe this of him because they do not want to believe it of him. If they did, they would understand his behavior. They don't want to understand his behavior, and they don't want anyone else to understand it.

Truth is inconvenient for them, and it's a threat. That's why they are trying to destroy him.

He towers over them intellectually and morally. They don't understand this. They don't want to understand this. They do not want it to be true. But it is.
