Except that the Catholic Church defines matrimony as a lifetime union of one man and one woman, and not a temporary partnership as the Methodist Church and other Protestant denominations do. Having rewritten Biblical marriage once it's ironic that the Methodists will split over liberal attempts to rewrite it again.

That is not true.
Not really “lifetime” marriage!
I know a Catholic man with five kids who got his marriage annulled and remarried a much younger woman.
I asked his mom about and she said “it wasn’t a valid marriage” even though they were both Catholic and had five kids together.
It seemed so, so hypocritical!
